Absolute have recently launched a new school website for Mount St Mary’s in Sheffield.

The school’s existing site not only looked dated, the content had been added in a disjointed way, with duplicate categories and articles appearing due to the site expanding over time and outgrowing the scope of the original design. Absolute were brought on board to deliver a cost effective and simple solution to improving the website to drive enquiries from prospective parents.

Having won the pitch process, we set about pulling the site apart and created a new site plan and set of loose schematics in collaboration with the staff at the school. During this process we had discussions with key staff who would be tasked with the ongoing content management of the site, to ensure that the CMS system we used could be tailored to suit their needs and expectations.

The resulting website is clean and easy to use for visitors and also for the staff who are responsible for keeping it updated. With a core system in place, Absolute were able to "bolt-on" satellite sites for conferencing and junior areas of the school which are all administered via the same iCMS Educate console.

Our iCMS Educate content management system gives staff control over the content and images on the site without fear of "breaking" anything, meaning they can keep virtually every aspect of the the site up to date themselves – something that is important when sports results, news and notices to parents need to be constantly maintained.
