We launch a new website for Royal Birkdale Golf Club
By Wayne SilcockThis week we scored a hole in one with a brand new website and Golf Yearbook for long standing client, the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
We have worked closely with the famous Open Championship Club for over 7 years and were tasked with unifying their brand both online and offline. Their existing website looked dated and did not reflect how prestigious the course is, and the yearbook whilst having some good content, just shouted out for a redesign to bring it up to date.

Mike Gilyeat, Managing Secretary for Royal Birkdale Golf Club said;
"...We wanted to give each visitor an experience they wouldn’t forget and that starts with the first communication with us via our website. We briefed Absolute to portray the club as a great modern facility with a lot of history and tradition and they have hit the brief on the head, as the initial feedback has been fantastic"
In usual Absolute style we looked after the entire project. Yes – we did everything, from the usual copywriting, web development, brochure design, photography and video production though to organising interviews with some of golf’s biggest names (Justin Rose and Yani Tseng) and negotiating with advertisers to become yearbook partners. We even got helicopter footage shot of each and every hole on the course!
The website allows both members and non-members to book tee times online, and makes it easy for the club to manage everything from tournaments, handicaps and events.
Users can explore the course in detail using an interactive map to unlock tips from Birkdale’s resident Pro, get the lowdown on the history of the course, and even see guides for what wildlife they expect to see during their round.
You can see the website at www.royalbirkdale.com
