We have had some good news recently as we found out that Absolute has been nominated for a Travolution Award in the “best agency for web design” category for our work on Go Lakes (www.golakes.co.uk) for Cumbria Tourism alongside CMS developers NVG.

The Travolution Awards are unique in recognising companies, brands and individuals who excel in the fields of online travel distribution, digital marketing and technology. Judged by a panel of proven business leaders, experts and entrepreneurs, they are the UK travel industry’s highest accolade for innovation and excellence online.

Rachel Stott, Web Sales & Marketing Manager for Cumbria Tourism said;

The very fact it has been shortlisted is a testament to the hard work involved in making our website such a success."

Our starting point, as with any website design, was to look at how we could improve the experience for the user. We created a detailed website audit where we looked at the sites usability and architecture, essentially stripping everything back and trying to understand a Go Lakes user and their needs. Our findings were translated into a clear design that is simple yet has depth of features.

Aviva Pearson, Business Development Manager for NVG who worked on the site development said;

"We took Absolute’s design and implemented it into NVG\'s new modular CMS Pro. The site features a host of new options and modules to maintain and update the site, such as dynamic style sheets and content-managed slideshows. The novel feature of this site is that the style sheets can be content managed, not just the copy."

The awards take place on Tuesday 11th October at the Roundhouse in London Village. We look forward to a great night out and hopefully we will also be bringing home a shiny new piece of perspex to add to the collection!
