Tell us a bit about yourself, your background

As a fresh-faced graduate, I landed an office junior role at an integrated marketing and events agency in the city, way back in early 2014. I instantly fell in love with the fast-paced agency environment and the creativity of it all. I approach every project with passion and excitement, and always tackle every challenge head on, which saw me grow to a senior level associate at my former agency.

Six years on and I’m still as excited as ever with each new brief and by helping clients realise their vision and propel their business forward with the best creative marketing strategy.

I’m delighted to be joining Absolute as a Senior Account Manager and bring a wealth of experience in conceptualising and delivering multi-faceted marketing campaigns.

When I’m not working, I like to keep active (usually, though the pandemic has made me a bit lazy!) and I try to push myself in different challenges. Last year I climbed Mount Toubkal in Morocco, the year before I ran my first (and definitely last) marathon and I’ve been known to enjoy an obstacle run. I’ve taken part in Tough Mudder and Hell Runner.

How did you find yourself at Absolute?

After being at the same agency for six years, I was ready for a new challenge and to diversify the client sectors I was to have the pleasure of working with. After another opportunity fell through due to COVID-19, I applied after learning more about Absolute on Prolific North. I was over the moon to meet with Client Services Director, Paula and MD Chris later in the year.. And as they say, the rest is history!

While many agencies struggle through these difficult times, it was a fantastic feeling to be the new hire at an innovative & growing agency.

The team at Absolute instantly welcomed me in and I hit the ground running in the first week. You can tell this is a close-knit team and I was immediately made to feel part of that, joining in different planning meetings and creative conversations from day one. I left that first week feeling re-energised in my career and I’m excited for my future here.

Everyone is really down to earth and I can tell they work hard and play hard! At the end of week one we had (socially distanced) drinks for Absolute’s 21st Birthday – coincidentally the same age as me, their new starter *ahem*.

Give us an interesting fact…

I don’t know how interesting this is, but its unusual and my go-to fact. I was once shortlisted in the Top 20 for an international sock design competition.

What’s on your playlist at the minute?

Little Mix’s new album – Confetti. I know I’m probably much older than the rest of their fanbase but I, rather hopefully given the current situation, look forward to seeing them in 2021!

What are you never seen without?

I’m trying to get through my 2020 reading challenge, so at the moment – a book.

A thought to leave us with…

Everything feels a bit doom and gloom with lockdown at the moment but try and find the positive in everything, not matter how small. At this time, channel all your energy and maybe even that little bit of anger – haha- into work and things you are passionate about. And finally, in the hurry to get “Back To Normal”, start working now to shape what that will look like. To paraphrase Daniel Beddingfield - we gotta get through this!!
