Recently we’ve been working with Rossall School, an independent boarding and day school on the Fylde coast, to update their printed prospectus offerings.

The school is set in an impressive campus with unique views across the coast and access to the beach – not many schools can claim that! We were lucky enough to meet some students on one visit and they clearly expressed what a great school it is for helping them reach their potential. They enjoy it so much most students stay at the school for evening meals and to do their homework despite not being boarders!

A key market for the school is the local population. In these circles the impression of the school was that it was old fashioned and very academic, when this couldn’t be further from the truth. The first piece to change this opinion was a new ‘mini prospectus’ to be distributed in the surrounding towns and at public events held within the grounds. The prospectus offers a glimpse into life at the school with an overview of sporting, drama and extra-curricular activities and quotes from the students to support the positive outlook the school instills in its pupils.

Secondly, we produced a new International prospectus. With students speaking over 35 different languages this is a very large market for Rossall. Due to the language barriers faced the text had to be kept to a minimum and each spread features a full page image and a single word message (translated into several languages) that sums up the school ethos.

Absolute also provided copywriting services and arranged a photo shoot to provide fresh content for the publications. Thankfully, the weather was kind and we got some great sunset shots on the beach with the students all eager to get involved and jump around in the surf!

We are looking forward to working with Rossall School in the coming year on a number of projects.
